Ryan Farnol has been designing and building ponds, waterfalls, and outdoor environments in Colorado since 2006. Over the years, he developed a deep appreciation for combining natural materials, flowing water, and thoughtful landscape design to create outdoor spaces that feel both beautiful and timeless.

Platinum Ponds & Landscaping was founded in 2015, when Ryan returned to West Michigan to bring his passion for water features and outdoor living spaces to the Grand Rapids area.
While working on landscape projects in West Michigan, Ryan met Jim Andrie. They quickly discovered they shared the same expectations when it came to craftsmanship, customer service, and reliability. That shared mindset formed the foundation of Platinum Ponds & Landscaping.

Ryan has been designing and building ponds, water features, and outdoor living spaces since 2006. As a Master Certified Aquascape Contractor, he brings a deep understanding of ecosystem water features, natural stone construction, and creative landscape design.
Ryan’s passion lies in turning ordinary backyards into immersive outdoor environments where homeowners can relax, entertain, and enjoy the beauty of nature. His artistic vision and years of experience guide the design process for every Platinum Ponds project.
Partner & Operations Manager
Jim brings a detail-oriented, engineering-driven mindset to every project, backed by his degree in engineering. He ensures each build is executed with precision, efficiency, and long-term durability. His leadership keeps projects running smoothly from planning through installation, consistently meeting the company’s high standards for quality.
Born and raised in West Michigan, Jim understands the region’s unique climate challenges and designs landscapes built to thrive in every season. An Eagle Scout with a lifelong connection to the outdoors, he’s passionate about creating spaces that help families enjoy nature right in their own backyard.
Pond Maintenance Manager
Since joining the team in 2024, Hunter has become an essential part of our operation, bringing strong mechanical expertise and machine operating skills to every project. As our Pond Maintenance Manager, Hunter ensures our customers’ water features run smoothly and reliably all year long. Hunter is a West Michigan native and proud father of a young daughter.
